Kadri scores trick as London routs the Otters 8-1 to take 2-0 series lead @NHLdotcom

LONDON, Ont. - Nazem Kadri scored London's first three goals and added two assists the Knights cruised to a commanding 8-1 victory over the Erie Otters on Saturday night to take a 2-0 series lead in their Ontario Hockey League Western Conference quarter-final.

Kadri opened the scoring on a power play midway through the first period and added two more goals in the second as London outshot the Otters 54-29.

John Tavares scored an early third-period goal to make it 4-1 and added an assist for the Knights, while Phil Varone had a goal and two assists and Scott Aarssen had a goal and an assist. Dominic DeSando and Justin Taylor also scored.

London netminder Trevor Cann made 28 saves.

Shawn Szydlowski had the lone reply for Erie, which pulled starter Jaroslav Janus after he allowed seven goals on 47 shots. Shane Owen stopped 6 of 7 in replacement.
