Kaberle recovers from surgery, rejoins Hurricanes @NHLdotcom

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Frantisek Kaberle has recovered from offseason shoulder surgery and was activated from the injured list for Tuesday's game at Montreal.

Kaberle led all Carolina defensemen with 44 points last season and scored the deciding goal in Carolina's 3-1 victory in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals against Edmonton. He signed a four-year contract in June that will pay him $2.2 million annually.

To make room for Kaberle, the Hurricanes assigned defenseman Anton Babchuk to the team's AHL affiliate in Albany, N.Y.
