Justin Kirkland of the Anaheim Ducks was released from the hospital Tuesday, two days after he was involved in a car accident while on his way to the game against the Boston Bruins.

The 26-year-old center was transported to UCI Health. He has full mobility and was communicating with his family and teammates before leaving the hospital.
"We are thankful for the quick care and treatment Justin received from first responders and medical staff at UCI Health," Ducks general manager Pat Verbeek said.
Kirkland has played seven games for the Ducks this season after signing a one-year, two-way contract on July 14. He also has 13 points (six goals, seven assists) in 19 games with San Diego of the American Hockey League.
