Justin Dowling leads Swift Current to 2-1 win over Kootenay Ice in WHL play

CRANBROOK, B.C. - Justin Dowling had a goal and an assist to help the Swift Current Broncos to a 2-1 win over the Kootenay Ice in Western Hockey League action Tuesday night.

Dowling opened the scoring with a wrist shot over the shoulder of Ice netminder Todd Mathews early in the first.

The Ice (37-17-5) replied in the second period with James Martin netting a backhander on the power play.

The Broncos (30-27-4) regained the lead on a two-man advantage as Travis Bobbee scored on a one-timer that dribbled through Mathews and barely crossed the goal-line.

Morgan Clark turned away 31 shots for the Broncos. Mathews made 18 saves for the Ice.
