While Black Friday turns almost everyone into a shopper, in the NHL it seemingly turns everyone into a goalie.
During two different games and in two entirely different situations, Detroit Red Wings forward Justin Abdelkader and San Jose Sharks Brent Burns each jumped in the net for a second to stop a sure goal.
Abdelkader, with his team trailing 3-2 to the Devils in the second period, fought off Kyle Palmieri in the crease and made an incredible kick save on Michael Cammalleri's shot, which was ticketed for the net.

Thanks to Abdelkader's heroics, which happened behind goalie Petr Mrazek, who was in the game because Jimmy Howard left with a lower body injury, the Red Wings went on to win, 5-4.
Meanwhile, across the country in San Jose, Sharks defenseman Brent Burns hopped in net after goalie Aaron Dell ended up sprawled out on the ice and under Islanders forward Brock Nelson.
Burns showed some good form too, staying close to the pipe and dropping his stick to the ground just like a goalie would as he took Nikolay Kulemin's wraparound backhanded shot attempt off the right arm.
The Sharks also won by a goal, 3-2.
