Josh Shalla leads Saginaw Spirit over Owen Sound Attack 7-5 in OHL play @NHL

OWEN SOUND, Ont. - Josh Shalla had a five-point night for Saginaw as the Spirit beat the Owen Sound Atack 7-5 in Ontario Hockey League action Wednesday.

After Owen Sound jumped out to a 3-0 lead before the game was eight minutes old, Saginaw responded with five straight goals.

The Attack fought back to make it 5-5 in the third, before Ryan O'Connor gave Saginaw the lead for at 17:30 of the final period.

Shalla iced things with an empty-netter to finish with two goals and three assists.

Ivan Telegin, Vincent Trocheck, Michael Sgarbossa and Jordan Szwarz also scored for the Spirit (15-6-2). Ivans added two assists, while Jordan Skellett also helped out on three Saginaw goals.

Garrett Wilson had a hat trick and added an assist for Owen Sound. Bobby Mignardiand and Myles Doan also scored and Steven Shipley added three assists for the Attack (8-14-3).

Edward Pasquale made 31 saves in the win, while Scott Stajcer stopped 31 shots in defeat.
