OSHAWA, Ont. - Josh Bailey scored three times and added an assist to lead the Windsor Spitfires to a 7-2 win over the Oshawa Generals in OHL action Sunday night.
Bailey opened the scoring 2:12 into the game and added two more goals in the second period, when the Spitfires (31-14-5-4) turned a 2-2 tie after one period into a 6-2 lead.
Greg Nemisz and defenceman Ryan Ellis each had a goal and two assists, while Bradley Snetsinger had four helpers.
Mickey Renaud and Richard Greenop scored the other Windsor goals.
Dale Mitchell and John Tavares replied for the Generals (33-12-2-4), briefly pulling them even after falling behind 2-0.
The Generals league-leading power play was silent, failing to score on nine chances, while the Spitfries converted two of five chances.
Windsor outshot Oshawa 38-35 and drove Michal Neuvirth from the Oshawa net after two periods.
Jakub Kovar, who was traded for Neuvirth at the trade deadline, earned the win for Windsor.
