Josefson's shootout goal lifts Devils past Flyers @NHLdotcom

Jacob Josefson scored the tying goal with 3:31 remaining in the third period and the only goal in the shootout to give the New Jersey Devils a 3-2 win against the Philadelphia Flyers at Prudential Center on Friday in the preseason finale for each team.

Jakub Voracek gave the Flyers a 2-1 lead with a power-play goal 4:59 into the third period.

Jiri Tlusty, who signed with the Devils as a free agent in September, scored a power-play goal at 3:36 of the third to tie the game 1-1.

Ryan White's shorthanded goal put the Flyers ahead 11:03 into the second period.

Steve Mason made 29 saves and Claude Giroux had two assists for Philadelphia (3-2-2). The Flyers open the regular season Oct. 8 at the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Cory Schneider made 21 saves for New Jersey (3-4-0). The Devils open the regular season Oct. 9 at home against the Winnipeg Jets.

New Jersey was without injured forwards Patrik Elias (knee) and Kyle Palmieri (lower body).
