Jones stops 33 shots as Calgary Hitmen blank Medicine Hat Tigers 2-0 @NHLdotcom

CALGARY - Martin Jones stopped all 33 shots he faced to lead the Calgary Hitmen to a 2-0 win over the Medicine Hat Tigers in Western Hockey League action Saturday night.

Joel Broda scored the game-winning goal for the Hitmen (36-16-2) on a Calgary power play with 10 seconds left in the second period.

Del Cowan then added an empty-net goal with 10 seconds left in the game to secure the victory for the Hitmen, who have reeled off four straight wins.

Jones made a pad save to turn aside a penalty-shot attempt by Medicine Hat forward Emerson Etem early in the second period.

The Tigers (32-18-3-5) have now lost three straight games including two in a row to the Hitmen. Medicine Hat goalie Tyler Bunz made 23 saves in a losing cause.
