Jones makes 30 saves, Sharks shut out Canucks @NHLdotcom

Martin Jones made 30 saves in his debut with the San Jose Sharks in their 4-0 victory against the Vancouver Canucks at Rogers Arena.

Jones, who played last season with the Los Angeles Kings, made 11 saves in the first period and again in the third to preserve the shutout.

Brent Burns and Tomas Hertl each had a goal and an assist for San Jose. Paul Martin opened the scoring 2:41 into the game, and Nikolay Goldobin had a power-play goal at 12:37 of the third period.

The Sharks were 2-for-3 on the power play.

Canucks goalie Ryan Miller allowed two goals on nine shots. Joe Cannata made 11 saves.

Vancouver was 0-for-6 on the power play.
