SPOKANE, Wash. - Tyler Johnson had a goal and an assist and the Spokane Chiefs held the Everett Silvertips to 10 shots in the final two periods en route to a 2-1 Western Hockey League win Wednesday.

The win was the first in five tries for the Chiefs over Everett and snapped the Silvertips' 14 game winning streak.

Johnson scored on a two-on-one from Levko Koper at 6:59 of the first period to stake the Chiefs to a 1-0 lead. Blake Gal also assisted.

The Silvertips' lone goal came at 12:50 of the first when Kellan Tochkin roofed it past James Reid on a pass from below the goal line from Scott MacDonald.

Everett (33-17-3) and Spokane were tied at 10 shots a piece through 20 minutes, but the Chiefs put 14 on net in the second period and allowed the Silvertips just four.

Kyle Beach scored the eventual game winner, his 35th of the year and sixth in the last four games, at 10:37 from Johnson and Jared Cowen on the power play.

Spokane (30-19-4) was forced to skate on the penalty kill for the only time with 1:18 remaining but Reid and the Chiefs shut the door for the team's 30th win of the year.
