Arizona reacts to signing of Shane Doan

Coyotes teammates, Senator McCain share excitement of captain's return over Twitter @NHL

After forward Shane Doan signed a one-year contract to return to the Arizona Coyotes for his 21st season with the franchise Tuesday, players and other personalities from around Arizona tweeted their excitement to have "Captain Coyote" back in the Valley. 

Coyotes defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson is glad Doan will play in Arizona for another season.

Doan, the longest-tenured Coyote in franchise history, has also been a mentor to second-year forward Max Domi.

Sen. John McCain, who represents Arizona, was glad to keep Doan in-state.

Retired forward Tyson Nash, who played two seasons with the Coyotes, thought they took a big step forward to keep their leadership intact.

Coyotes play-by-play announcer Matthew McConnell holds Doan in very high regard.
