Joey MacDonald makes 32 saves to lead Bulldogs over Americans 4-1 @NHLdotcom

HAMILTON - Joey MacDonald turned away 32 shots ? including all 12 sent his way in the third period ? as the Hamilton Bulldogs beat the visiting Rochester Americans 4-1 on Wednesday in American Hockey League play.

Nick Sorkin's goal 25 seconds into the second period stood up as the winner for the Bulldogs (26-19-6), while Sven Andrighetto, T.J. Hensick and Jake Dowell supplied the rest of the offence.

Brayden Irwin responded for the Americans (22-27-4), who lost in regulation for the first time in eight outings.

Rochester's Matt Hackett stopped 24-of-27 shots in a losing cause.

Hamilton went 0 for 2 on the power play while the Americans failed to score on three chances with the man advantage.
