Thornton fined $2,500 for actions in Sharks game against Golden Knights

Center punished for high-sticking Reaves in first period Saturday

NEW YORK - San Jose Sharks forward Joe Thornton has been fined $2,500 for high-sticking Vegas Golden Knights forward Ryan Reaves during NHL Game No. 1211 in San Jose on Saturday, March 30, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 15:20 of the first period. Thornton was assessed a minor penalty for high-sticking.

The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
