sharks for life short shifts

Joe Pavelski may be representing Team USA at the World Cup of Hockey 2016, but he still has time to spearhead the San Jose Sharks' "Sharks for Life" campaign.
The Sharks captain teamed up with retired NHL goalie Evgeni Nabokov for a hilarious commercial, released last week, where they supported a Santa Clara girl in a spelling bee. In the second edition, they showcase their enthusiasm for a guy named Gary, who is giving an important boardroom presentation.

Fans in the Bay Area will be seeing the commercial on their televisions soon. Fortunately, we're all privy to the outtakes, which are the best part.

Nabokov's presence drives home the Sharks for Life theme. A ninth-round pick (No. 219) of the Sharks in the 1994 NHL Draft, Nabokov spent his first 10 seasons in San Jose before playing one season for St. Petersburg of the Kontinental Hockey League and three for the New York Islanders before signing with the Tampa Bay Lightning. He retired as a member of the Sharks after the Lightning traded him there for future considerations on Feb. 9, 2015.
