Hayes died Aug. 23 at age 31. He played seven NHL seasons, including two each with the Panthers (2013-15) and Bruins (2015-17).
A moment of silence will be held before the game, and players on each team will wear special jerseys during warmups that read "Haysey" and "Broadway," nicknames Hayes had when playing in the NHL.
The jerseys will be available via auction through
the Panthers
and
the Bruins
, with all funds raised benefitting a charity to be determined by the Hayes family and the teams.
Hayes, selected by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the second round (No. 60) of the 2008 NHL Draft, scored 109 points (54 goals, 55 points) in 334 games with the Chicago Blackhawks, Panthers, Bruins and New Jersey Devils.
