The Toronto Maple Leafs signed goaltender Jhonas Enroth to a one-year contract worth $750,000 on Monday.

Enroth, 28, who was an unrestricted free agent, was 7-5-1 with a 2.17 goals-against average and .922 save percentage in 16 games (13 starts) with the Los Angeles Kings last season. The Kings signed goalie Jeff Zatkoff on July 1 to back up Jonathan Quick.

In seven seasons with the Kings, Dallas Stars and Buffalo Sabres, Enroth is 50-66-15 in 147 games.

Enroth is expected to back up Frederik Andersen, who was acquired in a trade with the Anaheim Ducks on June 20. Toronto traded goalie Jonathan Bernier to the Ducks on July 8.
