Jets Team Scope

The Winnipeg Jets are playing their first game since a 3-0 loss to the Edmonton Oilers in the 2016 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic on Sunday. "It was a little bit different," rookie forward Patrik Laine said of the outdoor game. "It's nice to play inside now and for the rest of the season and just focus on improving." Goaltender Michael Hutchinson will start for the Jets. He won his last start on Oct. 19, making 36 saves against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Chris Thorburn will be back in the lineup after being a healthy scratch in four of the first five games. Paul Postma is a healthy scratch after playing in the first five games.

Stars Team scope

Ales Hemsky was put back on injured reserve by the Dallas Stars with a groin injury after making his season debut Saturday in a 3-0 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets. Center Jason Spezza didn't skate Monday or Tuesday because of an undisclosed injury, and Lindy Ruff said he still had to make a decision on his status. Forward Patrick Eaves will return to the lineup after missing one game with a lower-body injury sustained against the Los Angeles Kings on Oct. 20. "You never like to miss any games," Eaves said. "It's never fun, but you try to get back as quick as you can and help the team." Justin Dowling was recalled from Texas of the American Hockey League and will make his NHL debut after spending five seasons in the minor leagues. Goaltender Antti Niemi will make his first start since Oct. 15.
