Winnipeg Jets forward Jim Slater had surgery Thursday to repair the labrum in his hip, the team announced Friday.
Jets general manager Kevin Chevaldayoff said the expectation is Slater will be ready for training camp in September.
Slater, 31, had one goal and one assist in 27 games this season. He missed four months after having surgery in October for a sports hernia.
Last season was the second straight that has seen Slater struggle with injuries. He had a career-best 13 goals in 2011-12, but had one goal in 26 games in 2012-13 when he missed the final 22 games with a hand injury.
