The Winnipeg Jets will be close to full strength Tuesday against the Anaheim Ducks with the return of Evander Kane. The Jets forward missed the past four games with a deep cut on his hand.
Kane participated in a full practice Monday and coach Paul Maurice declared he was ready to go.
"Leading into [Monday], he had three hard skates, and that?s what we were waiting for," Maurice told the Winnipeg Sun. "It?s that conditioning of being able to skate. So he?s in the lineup [Tuesday]."
Maurice said he'll start Kane with Mark Scheifele and Blake Wheeler, though that is subject to change.
"I'd like to think I?m going to have some patience with it, because I'd like to see it work," Maurice said. "At the same time, I do have another place for him as well that I wouldn't mind seeing him."
Despite missing 12 games to injury, Kane's 14 goals rank third on the Jets. Kane's father will also be on the Jets' two-game California swing during which players are allowed to bring their dads.
