Jesper Fast agrees to terms on contract with Rangers

Forward to sign for three years, $5.55 million @NHLdotcom

Forward Jesper Fast agreed to terms on a three-year, $5.55 million contract with the New York Rangers on Wednesday.

The contract has an average annual value of $1.85 million.

Fast, 25, is expected to miss the start of this season; it was announced June 5 that he had hip surgery. He had 21 points (six goals, 15 assists) in 68 games and six points (three goals, three assists) in 12 Stanley Cup Playoff games for the New York Rangers last season. 

The Rangers selected Fast in the sixth round (No. 157) of the 2010 NHL Draft. In four seasons with New York, Fast has 65 points (22 goals, 43 assists) in 216 regular-season games and 14 points (six goals, eight assists) in 39 playoff games.
