Jeremy Welsh scores twice as Chicago topples Manitoba 5-3 @NHLdotcom

WINNIPEG - Jeremy Welsh had a pair of goals and Jordan Binnington made 31 saves as the Chicago Wolves downed the host Manitoba Moose 5-3 on Thursday in American Hockey League play.

Evan Trupp, Petteri Lindbohm and Ivan Barbashev also found the back of the net for the Wolves (8-1-1), who extended their win streak to six games, while Zach O'Brien, Pat Cannone and Eriah Hayes each tacked on two assists.

Chase De Leo, Jiri Fronk and Patrice Cormier scored for the Moose (2-8-2), who got a 14-save outing from Connor Hellebuyck.

Chicago went 1 for 3 on the power play while Manitoba failed to score on either of its chances with the man advantage.
