OSHAWA, Ont. - Captain Boone Jenner scored twice and assisted on another as the Oshawa Generals defeated the Niagara IceDogs 3-1 on Sunday in the Ontario Hockey League.
Jenner pounced on a rebound and opened the scoring 11:32 into the game, then added an insurance goal 11:09 into the third for his league-leading 24th of the season.
He also set up Tyler Biggs for what turned out to be the winner, a power-play goal 6:08 into the second period.
Daniel Altshuller made 24 saves for the win in net for the Generals (14-10-3), but lost his shutout bid when Steven Shipley scored on a power play with 5:12 remaining in the third period.
It was the first-regulation loss in seven games for the IceDogs (17-8-2).
Ryan Strome picked up an assist on the Shipley goal, extending a point-scoring streak to 11 games, the entire month of November. He has 30 points over that span.
Christopher Festarini faced 38 shots in the Niagara net.
Each team scored once on the power play, Oshawa on four chances and Niagara on three.
