Jenks' two goals powers Whalers in 6-2 win over Rangers

PLYMOUTH, Mich. - AJ Jenks scored twice as the Plymouth Whalers broke out with a four-goal second period and went on to defeat the Kitchener Rangers 6-2 Saturday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Myles McCauley and Jan Latal each added their first OHL goals for Plymouth, while Jamie Devane and Joe Gaynor also scored for the Whalers. Beau Schmitz and Michal Jordan chipped in with two assists apiece.

Matt Hackett made 23 saves in net for the Whalers (6-8-1-0).

Brandon Mashinter and Kevin Hudes scored the Rangers' goals and Josh Unice stopped 28 shots in a losing effort.

The Whalers went 2-for-4 on the power play and the Rangers (7-7-0-1) 1-for-6 with the man-advantage.
