Jason Jaffray scores quick overtime goal as IceCaps beat Whale 2-1 @NHLdotcom

HARTFORD, Conn. - Jason Jaffray scored 16 seconds into overtime as the St. John's IceCaps edged the Connecticut Whale 2-1 in American Hockey League play Friday.

Jaffray redirected a shot from Aaron Gagnon, improving the IceCaps (23-10-6) dominant road record to 13-1-3.

Riley Holzapfel gave St. John's a 1-0 lead on the power play 17:31 into the first period.

The lead held until 3:27 into the third, when Erik Christensen scored for the Whale (19-15-7).

IceCaps goaltender Edward Pasquale made 26 saves, while at the other end Cameron Talbot stopped 35 shots.
