CALGARY - Jason Bast had a hat trick and goalie Joey Perricone made 43 saves as the Moose Jaw Warriors staved off elimination with a 4-2 win over the Calgary Hitmen in WHL playoff action Friday night.
With the win, the Warriors still trail the best-of-seven Eastern Conference quarter-final series 3-2, but they forced a sixth game back in Moose Jaw on Sunday.
Bast scored a pair of power-play goals 68 second apart in the first period and then added an empty-netter to seal the victory in the third.
Joel Broda also scored for the Warriors, while Riley Holzapfel had three assists.
After a scoreless first period for Calgary, the Hitmen battled back and out-shot the Warriors 15-6 in the second, but only managed to put one puck past Perricone with a goal from T.J. Galiardi.
Ian Duval scored to pull the Hitmen within a goal in the game's final minute, but that was as close as they would get.
Calgary goalie Dan Spence made 20 saves in a losing cause.
