Jason Akeson's OT goal leads Rangers to 8-7 slugfest over Knights

KITCHENER, Ont. - Jason Akeson scored 2:09 into overtime as the Kitchener Rangers survived an 8-7 slugfest with the London Knights in Ontario Hockey League playoff action Wednesday.

Kitchener tied the best-of-seven Western Conference semifinal at 2-2. Game 5 is Thursday in London. Jeff Skinner had three goals while John Moore added two goals and three assists for the Rangers.

Michael Catenacci, with a goal and two assists, and Ryan Murphy had the other Kitchener goals.

Nazem Kadri had two goals and an assist for London, while Colin Martin had a goal and two assists. Pieter Schinkelshoek, Tyler Brown and Stephen Sanza also scored.

Brandon Maxwell made 30 saves for Kitchener. Michael Hutchinson and Michael Houser combined for 32 stops for London.
