Jason Akeson scores winner, Rochester beats St. John's 3-2 in overtime @NHLdotcom

ST. JOHN'S, N.L. - Jason Akeson scored 1:12 into overtime as the Rochester Americans edged the host St. John's IceCaps 3-2 on Saturday in American Hockey League action.

Tim Schaller and Jerome Leduc found the back of the net in regulation for the Americans (12-11-2).

Stefan Fournier and Gabriel Dumont scored for the IceCaps (12-7-7), who are on a three-game slide.

Rochester's Nathan Lieuwen made 26 saves for the win as Eddie Pasquale stopped 32-of-35 shots for St. John's.

The Americans went 0 for 4 on the power play while the IceCaps failed to score on five chances with the man advantage.
