PLYMOUTH, Mich. - Jared Knight's hat trick led the London Knights past the Plymouth Whalers 6-3 in Ontario Hockey League action Saturday.
Seth Griffith had a goal and three assists and Vladislav Namestnikov added a goal and two assists to back Michael Houser's 40-save performance in goal. Jake Patterson played a four-minute stretch early in the second period and stopped the only shot he faced.
Matt Rupert also scored for the Knights (4-0-0).
Rickard Rakell, Dario Trutmann and Mitchell Heard scored for Plymouth (2-2-0) and Scott Wedgewood finished with 20 saves.
The Whalers and Knights honored local goalie Ian Jenkins, a draft pick of the Knights last May who passed away in a traffic accident in Michigan just two weeks later. Jenkins' father and sister participated in a ceremonial puck drop before the game.
