LONDON, Ont. - Jared Knight scored two goals including the overtime winner as the London Knights overcame a third-period rally to beat the Erie Otters 5-4 in Ontario Hockey League action Friday.
Knight scored 34 seconds into OT, giving London (15-7-1) the victory in a back-and-forth match. Knight opened the scoring in the first and Garett Hunter added one more to give London a 2-0 lead.
The Otters (9-10-4) replied in the second with a pair of power-play goals by Mike Cazzola and David Shields.
But London roared back with two short-handed goals in less than a minute. With Leigh Salters in the box for hooking, Justin Taylor and Philip McRae each scored to give the Knights a 4-2 lead heading into the third.
Greg McKegg scored with the man advantage to bring the Otters within one and Cazzola scored his second to send the game to overtime.
London goaltender Michael Hutchinson made 35 saves for the win, while at the other end Jaroslav Janus stopped 29 shots.
