BARRIE, Ont. - Jared Gomes scored twice as the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors won 4-2 over the Barrie Colts in Ontario Hockey League action on Thursday.
Gomes first goal came at 6:19 of the first, with Barrie's Stefan Della Rovere quickly tying things up at 12:29 on a man-advantage.
With only 46 seconds into the second period, Casey Cizikas wired the puck into the Colts' net to give the Majors a 2-1 lead.
Barrie's Colin Behenna evened it at 14:13 in second, then Gomes produced a power-play marker at 16:28 to put Mississauga ahead 3-2 heading into intermission.
Jesse Messier got the lone goal in the third period at 3:13 to put the game away for the Majors.
JP Anderson got the start in net and turned aside 33 shots for the Majors, while Michael Hutchinson made 31 saves for the Colts.
Mississauga (23-19-1-2) went 2-for-4 on the power play, while Barrie finished 1-for-6 on the night.
