James Priestner stops 29 of 30 as Wheat Kings crawl closer to Broncos with 5-1 win @NHL

SWIFT CURRENT, Sask. - Brandon goaltender James Priestner stopped 29 of 30 shots to backstop the Brandon Wheat Kings to a 5-1 win over the host Swift Current Broncos in WHL play Friday night.

The win moves Brandon to within a point of Swift Current for third place in the East Division, with the Wheat Kings holding a game in hand.

Matt Calvert, Keith Aulie, Andrew Clark, Nathan Green and Mark Stone scored for Brandon (16-11-1-1), who have won all three season meetings between the East Division rivals.

Justin Dowling had the lone goal for the Broncos (17-13-0-1).

Brandon went one for three on the powerplay, with Swift Current failing to score on any of their seven opportunities.

Priestner improved to 5-4-0-1 on the year with his 29 save performance.

Swift Current netminder Travis Yonkman fell to 7-4-0-1 after yielding five goals on 31 shots.
