Jagr's return to Pittsburgh highlights busy Thursday @NHLdotcom
A lot of Pittsburgh fans expected Jaromir Jagr to be on the ice when the Philadelphia Flyers came to the Consol Energy Center for the first time this season. Sure enough, he'll be there -- but not the way they were expecting a few months ago.

Jagr will be wearing the uniform of the hated Philadelphia Flyers when he takes the ice in Pittsburgh for one of nine games on Thursday's NHL schedule. The longtime Penguins star was widely expected to rejoin the team last summer after three seasons in Russia, but signed with Philadelphia instead.

The Flyers, playing their last game before the Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic on Monday, are coming off a 5-1 loss at Tampa Bay on Tuesday. The Penguins fired 52 shots while beating Carolina 4-2 the same night.

It's one of three 7 p.m. ET starts on Thursday's schedule. In addition to the Flyers-Penguins game, Calgary looks for its fifth win in a row when it visits the New York Islanders and Toronto tries to bounce back from Tuesday's 5-3 loss at Florida when it travels to Carolina.

A half-hour later, Montreal starts its annual holiday-week swing through Florida with a visit to Tampa Bay. That game can be seen in Canada on RDS.

At 8 p.m. ET, Edmonton visits Minnesota; a half-hour later Los Angeles travels to Winnipeg and Dallas returns home to host struggling Columbus. The Stars lost 5-3 in St. Louis on Monday, while the Jackets fell 2-1 in a shootout to Calgary on Tuesday.

Phoenix travels to Colorado in a game that gets under way at 9 p.m. ET, while Vancouver continues a road trip through California with a 10 p.m. ET visit to Anaheim.
