Jagr has three assists to help Czechs beat France 6-2 at hockey world event @NHL

COLOGNE, Germany - Jaromir Jagr had three assists as the Czech Republic cruised past France 6-2 Sunday at the world hockey championship.

Jiri Novotny added a goal and two assists for the Czechs, who are looking for their first world title since 2005.

The Czechs went up 5-0 when Lukas Kaspar scored six minutes into the third period. France then scored twice on goals from Yorick Treille and Laurent Meunier.

Jagr then set up Miroslav Blatak for a power-play goal with 33 seconds left for the final score.

Meanwhile, Group C rival Sweden beat Norway 5-2.

In Group A, Russia beat Slovakia 3-1, and Belarus rallied to top Kazakhstan 5-2.
