Jacquemet gets go-ahead goal in Kootenay's 3-1 win over Saskatoon

CRANBROOK, B.C. - Arnaud Jacquemet scored the eventual game-winner in the second period as the Kootenay Ice posted a 3-1 win over the Saskatoon Blades in WHL action on Sunday Night.

The Ice (35-20-4-2) opened the scoring as Matt Fraser was left alone in the slot, firing a wrist shot off a pass from Kevin King.

Blades (21-33-3-4) tied it in the second as Curtis Hamilton got a power-play marker with a high wrist shot.

Jacquemet gave the Ice a 2-1 lead on the power-play as his attempted pass deflected of the goalies' stick and rolled in off his back into the net.

In the third Andrew Bailey scored on a rebound to make it 3-1.

The Ice will visit Swift Current on Wednesday, Moose Jaw on Friday and Brandon on Saturday.

Braden Holtby made 36 saves for the Blades, while Thomas Heemskerk stopped 15 of 16 shots.
