COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - The Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned goaltender David LeNeveu (LEH'-neh-voo) to their American Hockey League affiliate in Springfield.

General manager Scott Howson announced the move Wednesday, two days after the team said LeNeveu had been added to Columbus' roster on emergency recall.

LeNeveu had been recalled when front-line goaltender Steve Mason was idled by a groin strain after players fell on him Friday night following a save in Anaheim. He is expected to be out until the weekend.

The 27-year-old LeNeveu has a 10-10-2 record with a 2.82 goals-against average and an .898 save percentage in 22 games with Springfield this season.
