Jack Johnson named Team USA captain @NHLdotcom
Los Angeles Kings defenseman Jack Johnson was named captain of Team USA for the 2010 World Championships Wednesday.

The World Championships will be played May 7-23 in Cologne, Gelsenkirchen and Mannheim, Germany.

Johnson has represented the U.S. seven previous times, most recently at the 2010 Olympics. He was also a member of Team USA at two IIHF World Men's Championships (2007, 2009), two IIHF World Junior Championships (2006, 2007) and two IIHF World Men's U18 Championships (2004, 2005).

Nick Foligno of the Ottawa Senators, Matt Greene of the Kings, Eric Nystrom of the Calgary Flames and Kyle Okposo of the New York Islanders were named alternate captains.
