Iwanski scores in shootout to give Hurricanes 2-1 victory over Tigers @NHLdotcom

LETHBRIDGE, Alta. - Dan Iwanski scored the shootout winner as the Lethbridge Hurricanes beat the Medicine Hat tigers 2-1 in Western Hockey League action night.

Zach Boychuk gave the Hurricanes (35-15-2-3) a 1-0 lead through 20 minutes before Mikael Ahle'n tied the game for Medicine Hat (31-18-5-2) early in the third period.

Both goaltenders were outstanding with Hurricanes Michael Maniago making 20 saves in regulation and overtime and Tigers' Ryan Holfeld countering with 23 stops.

In the shootout session, Tyler Ennis and Ahle'n were able to beat Maniago, but the Hurricanes got goals from Dwight King, Adam Chorneyko and then Iwanski, their eighth shooter, to clinch the win. The Tigers also hit a pair of posts in the shootout session.
