swapped minor-league forwards on Monday, as the Isles acquired Bobby Hughes
from the 'Canes in exchange for Robert Hennigar
Hughes, 21, appeared 27 games last season for the Albany River Rats in the American Hockey League. He had 4 goals, 3 assists and 27 penalty minutes. He also had an assist in two appearances with the ECHL's Florida Everblades. Hughes was selected by Carolina in the fourth round of the 2006 Entry Draft.
Hennigar, 26, split last season between AHL Bridgeport and Utah of the ECHL. In 34 games with Bridgeport, the undrafted center had 3 goals, 10 assists and 18 penalty minutes. He went 15-44-59 with 40 penalty minutes in 38 appearances for Utah.
