by NHL.com Staff / NHL.com

New York Islanders defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky left practice early Monday and is day-to-day with back spasms.

Visnovsky, who turned 38 in August, was limited to 24 games last season, missing more than half the season after sustaining a concussion in an October game against the Carolina Hurricanes. He had three goals and 11 points.

Visnovsky is a 13-season NHL veteran who has 123 goals and 475 points in 830 games with the Los Angeles Kings, Edmonton Oilers, Anaheim Ducks and Islanders.
