The New York Islanders have recalled forward Joshua Ho-Sang under emergency conditions.
Ho-Sang, 20, has 36 points (10 goals, 26 assists) in 48 games this season as a rookie with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League. The Toronto, ON, native leads the team in assists and is second in points. This marks the first NHL call-up of Ho-Sang's career.

The Islanders selected Ho-Sang with the 28th-overall pick in the 2014 National Hockey League Draft. Last season, he led the Niagara IceDogs in scoring with 82 points (19 goals, 63 assists) in 66 games during his final year of junior hockey. He added 26 points (6 goals, 20 assists) in 17 playoff games as Niagara advanced to the Ontario Hockey League Finals.
