Islanders' Clutterbuck gets winner against Bruins @NHLdotcom

Cal Clutterbuck broke a tie with 3:09 left in regulation to give the New York Islanders a 4-3 preseason win against the Boston Bruins at TD Garden on Tuesday.

TJ Brennan, Kyle Okposo and Cory Conacher scored in the second period to help the Islanders take a 3-1 lead. Kevin Poulin stopped 26 of 29 shots.

Patrice Bergeron, Matt Bartkowski and Brad Marchand scored for the Bruins. Niklas Svedberg started in goal, stopped seven of eight shots, and was replaced halfway through the game by Jeremy Smith, who made 15 saves.

Islanders defenseman Scott Mayfield scored an empty-net goal at 18:49 of the third period.

The teams play again on Friday in Bridgeport, Conn.
