Clutterbuck Islanders

Forward Cal Clutterbuck agreed to terms on a five-year contract with the New York Islanders on Friday. No financial terms were disclosed, but TSN reports it's worth $17.5 million, an average annual value of $3.5 million.
Clutterbuck, 29, could have become an unrestricted free agent on July 1, 2017.

He has nine points (two goals, seven assists) in 25 games and is fifth in the NHL with 89 hits. He was named an alternate captain at the start of this season, his fourth with the Islanders and ninth in the NHL.
Clutterbuck had 23 points (15 goals, eight assists) and 288 hits in 77 games with the Islanders last season, and two goals and an assist in 11 Stanley Cup Playoff games to help New York advance to the Eastern Conference Second Round.
The Islanders acquired Clutterbuck and a third-round pick in the 2013 NHL Draft in a trade with the Minnesota Wild for forward Nino Niederreiter on June 30, 2013. In 597 NHL games with the Islanders and Wild, Clutterbuck has 177 points (98 goals, 79 assists). He has five goals and three assists in 23 playoff games.
Clutterbuck was selected by Minnesota in the third round (No. 72) of the 2006 NHL Draft.
