Restricted free agent forward Ryan Strome agreed to terms on a two-year contract with the New York Islanders on Tuesday.
Financial terms were not released, but TSN reported an average annual value of $2.5 million.

The No. 5 pick in the 2011 NHL Draft, Strome finished with eight goals and 28 points in 71 games last season, a decline from the 17 goals and 50 points he scored in 2014-15. He had four points in eight Stanley Cup Playoff games to help the Islanders advance to the Eastern Conference Second Round, their first playoff series victory since 1993.
Strome, 23, has 32 goals and 96 points in 189 NHL games, all with the Islanders. Internationally, he won a bronze medal for Canada at the 2012 IIHF World Junior Championship after scoring three goals in six games.
