Islanders activate de Haan, reassign Reinhart to AHL

New York Islanders defenseman Griffin Reinhart was reassigned to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League on Thursday in order to make room for defenseman Calvin de Haan, who was activated off injured reserve, according to the Islanders.

Reinhart had no points and a minus-1 rating in three games for the Islanders. He averaged 14:23 of ice time. He is No. 20 on the Top 60 prospect ranking.

De Haan, who began the season on injured reserve after sustaining an upper-body injury in training camp, will make his season debut against the San Jose Sharks on Thursday. De Haan had three goals, 16 points, 114 hits and 104 blocked shots while averaging 21:01 of ice time a game in 51 games last season.
