NASHVILLE -- The Nashville Predators extended this Western Conference Second Round series with a 4-3 victory in Game 6 against the San Jose Sharks on Monday at Bridgestone Arena.

Viktor Arvidsson scored the game-winning goal with a backhander 2:03 into overtime. It was his first goal of the postseason.
The best-of-7 series is tied 3-3.
What we learned: These Predators are hard to kill. For the second straight series, they survived to force a Game 7 and are now 3-0 in elimination games this postseason. Nashville has been coming back all season, marching from an out-of-the-playoffs position to the first wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Western Conference. In the first round, they upset the Pacific Division champion Anaheim Ducks in seven games.

What this means for the Predators: The dream remains alive. The Predators are looking to go to the first Western Conference Final in franchise history. It will become a reality if they can pull off a second straight Game 7 victory on the road Thursday. A win in San Jose sends them on to play the winner of Game 7 between the Dallas Stars and St. Louis Blues on Wednesday.
What this means for the Sharks: More work needs to be done. The Sharks would have liked to close it out after center Logan Couture scored a power-play goal at 10:04 of the third period to take a 3-2 lead, but it wasn't meant to be. Now, San Jose faces a franchise-defining Game 7. The key piece of solace for the Sharks is that the home team has won each of the first six games of the series.

Key moment: The Predators would be the first to admit that they were lucky to get out of the first period trailing 2-1 after taking half the period to register their first shot and finishing with five shots in the period. But all that early-game futility was forgotten when Ryan Johansen scored the tying goal on a great individual effort that ended with a nifty backhand past San Jose goalie Martin Jones 1:25 into the second period to tie the game 2-2. It gave Nashville the momentum it would never relinquish.
What's next: Game 7 is Thursday at SAP Center. Time and television information for the game has not been released.
