* - Injured and won't compete
** - Injury replacement
One of the common themes for the 2012 NHL Draft has been injuries to some of the elite prospects, and this week's Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game has not been immune.

On Sunday, two of the top defensemen and one of the more exciting forwards were removed from the game's roster due to injury

Defenseman Olli Maatta of the London Knights and Cody Ceci of the Ottawa 67s, and forward Charles Hudon of the Chicoutimi Sagueneens will miss the two-day event in Kelowna, B.C.

Maatta is No. 6 on NHL Central Scouting's midterm ranking of North American skaters, and in his first season in North America, he has 19 points and a plus-20 rating in 38 games. He also played for Finland at the 2012 World Junior Championship.

Ceci, No. 16 on Central Scouting's list, is second among all Ontario Hockey League defensemen with 47 points, and his 11 goals are tied for third.

Hudon, a left wing ranked No. 96 on Central Scouting's rankings, has 22 goals and 57 points in 39 games.

Among those replacing them are Saskatoon Blades defenseman Dalton Thrower, ranked No. 30 by Central Scouting. A 5-foot-11.25, 198-pound blueliner, Thrower is fifth among all Western Hockey League defensemen with 40 points.

Also added to the roster is Erie Otters center Dane Fox. The 6-foot, 185-pounder is ranked No. 48 by Central Scouting, and has team-leading totals of 20 goals, 22 assists and 42 points.

Rouyn-Noranda defenseman Dillon Fournier also will take part in the Top Prospects Game. The 6-2, 180-pounder has 29 points in 39 games this season.

This most recent round of injury replacements brings the total to eight. Among those missing are Central Scouting's top-rated forward, Nail Yakupov of the Sarnia Sting, and it's top-rated North American goaltender, Malcolm Subban of the Belleville Bulls.

The rosters for the Top Prospects Game are chosen in a poll of the 30 NHL clubs and coordinated by NHL Central Scouting.

The prospects will take part in a skills competition on Jan. 31 and the Top Prospects Game on Feb. 1 (10 p.m. ET, NHLN-US, Sportsnet). Long-time NHL coach Pat Quinn will coach Team Orr, while three-time Stanley Cup champion Mark Recchi will coach Team Cherry

The game features seven of the top 11 skaters on Central Scouting's midterm rankings -- Quebec Remparts forward Mikhail Grigorenko (No. 2), Everett Silvertips defenseman Ryan Murray (No. 3), Kitchener Rangers forward Radek Faksa (No. 4), Red Deer Rebels defenseman Mathew Dumba (No. 7), Edmonton Oil Kings defenseman Griffin Reinhart (No. 8), Portland Winter Hawks defenseman Derrick Pouliot (No. 10), and Belleville Bulls forward Brendan Gaunce (No. 11).
