Wednesday was Imagine Dragons' time to rock the Stanley Cup Final.

The band comprised of Las Vegas residents brought the house down with a pregame performance of their hit "Whatever it Takes" ahead of Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final between the Vegas Golden Knights and Washington Capitals at T-Mobile Arena.
"This is amazing," Wayne Sermon, the band's lead guitarist told NBCSN during the second intermission of Game 2. "Growing up, I actually played hockey until I was 8, so being on the ice brought back all those feelings."

A string orchestra clad in Golden Knights jerseys played an introduction for Imagine Dragons, then added an instrumental backup to the band's performance while images from the Golden Knights season were projected across the ice.
The band makes its home in Vegas, so playing the Cup Final in Vegas was a no-brainer for them, who say they owe their success to their adopted hometown.

"We wouldn't be a band if it wasn't for this city," Sermon said. "We actually played a bunch of casinos growing up as a band, and they made it so we didn't have to do any other kind of of job, so we could do this full time and that's what made us successful."
Imagine Dragons' performance was just the latest popular musical act at the Stanley Cup Final.
