Red Wings' Datsyuk to make season debut vs. Sharks
Forward Pavel Datsyuk will make his season debut Friday when the Detroit Red Wings play the San Jose Sharks at Joe Louis Arena. Datsyuk, 37, has been recovering from surgery June 26 to repair ruptured tendons in his right ankle. Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill said Datsyuk will play on a line with Henrik Zetterberg and Justin Abdelkader.

Capitals' Ovechkin goes for record again vs. Flames
Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin will have another chance to pass Sergei Fedorov's record against the Calgary Flames. He tied Fedorov's mark of 483 goals Nov. 7 against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Blackhawks' Keith, Rozsival activated, will play against Blues
Chicago Blackhawks defensemen Duncan Keith and Michal Rozsival were activated off IR and will be in the lineup Saturday against the St. Louis Blues. Keith, 32, had surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee Oct. 20 and was projected to miss 4-6 weeks. Rozsival will make his season debut, playing for the first time since fracturing his left ankle last season against the Minnesota Wild in Game 4 of the Western Conference Second Round.

Blue Jackets' Murray scratched vs. Penguins
Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman Ryan Murray will be a healthy scratch Friday against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Murray, 22, has two goals and five assists in 16 games. He's third on the Blue Jackets with an average ice time of 20:36 but was a minus-2 in each of the past two games.

Team North America adds Cooper, DeBoer, Tippett
Tampa Bay's Jon Cooper, San Jose's Peter DeBoer, Arizona's Dave Tippett and Edmonton's Jay Woodcroft were named assistant coaches for Team North America for the 2016 World Cup of Hockey on Friday by the NHL and NHL Players' Association. Oilers coach Todd McLellan will serve as the head coach.
