TORONTO – Carolina Hurricanes’ forward Scott Walker has been suspended for one game, without pay, for a head-butting incident in NHL game #448 on Dec. 12,  the National Hockey League announced today.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and based on his average annual salary, Walker will forfeit $13,368.98.  The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.

At 0:51 of the second period, while involved in a fight with Ottawa Senators forward Mike Fisher, Walker head-butted him in the facial area.  Walker was assessed a major penalty for fighting and a match penalty for attempt to injure.
